Actor's Studio: Musical Theatre Dance (9th-12th)

For students who have had previous experience onstage, Actor’s Studio is an advanced course designed for intermediate to advanced actors looking to hone their craft and prepare for the professional world. For the first time, we are offering a Musical Theatre Dance class for our Actor's Studio program. This class is designed to build a strong technical dance foundation, and improve dance skills used in all musical theatre.
This class will meet weekly on Tuesdays for 10 weeks starting , September 10, 2024. The final class will be on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
Our 10-week teen studios for rising 10th-12th graders provide advanced theatre techniques and training for young actors interested in pursuing a professional theatre career.

Puppet Party: Make Your Own Puppet Show (1st-2nd)

Explore the zanny world of puppet theatre and make your very own puppet show with us!
This class will meet weekly on Tuesdays for 10 weeks starting Tuesday, September 10, 2024. The final class will be on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
Our 10-week classes for the energetic youngster continue to develop teamwork, self-expression, and imagination, while introducing acting techniques and stage movement skills through a specific fun setting or theme. Classes at this age range will include a performance showcase of skills learned during class, but students will not be performing a full production.

Musical Theatre: Mamma Mia (7th-12th)

Say "Thank You for the Music!" This class will develop vocal technique, an advanced musical theatre dance vocabulary, stage presence, and collaborative skills while working toward a final class performance of songs from the Broadway musical Mamma Mia.
This class will meet weekly on Wednesdays for 10 weeks starting Wednedsay, September 11, 2024. The final class will be on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
Our 10-week middle school studios for 7th-12th graders provide advanced theatre techniques, and an in-depth look at the theatrical production process. Some classes at this age range will include a performance showcase of skills learned during class, but students will not be performing a full production.

*Rising K4-K5 students must be fully potty-trained and able to use the bathroom by themselves. SYT staff may not change diapers nor enter the bathroom with a child.*

Sluethy, stealthy, super spies! Learn how to be stealthy, look for clues, and work together to gather intel. Join us for our mysterious adventures all semester long!
This class will meet weekly on Wednesdays for 10 weeks starting Wednesday, September 11, 2024. The final class will be on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
Our 10-week classes for rising K4-K5 explore creative play, music and art, while learning acting and storytelling techniques. Classes at this age range will include a performance showcase of skills learned during class, but students will not be performing a full production.
Acting Foundations (3rd-6th)

Are you interested in acting but not quite sure where to start? We’ve got you covered! You will leave the week with a strong foundation in stage performance and a newfound sense of self-expression.
This class will meet weekly on Thursdays for 10 weeks starting Thursday, September 12, 2024. The final class will be on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
Our 10-week technique classes for rising 3rd-6th graders introduce theatre techniques for those who are curious, and provide intermediate-level performance opportunities for those who are ready for the next step of the theatre process. Classes at this age range will include a performance showcase of skills learned during class, but students will not be performing a full production.
Scooby Doo: Solve That Mystery! (1st-2nd)

You better solve that mystery! Join Scooby and the rest of the gang fight monsters, ghouls, and ghosts! Have fun being a meddling kid!

Theatre 101: Acting The Song
with Maddie Tisdel

Our Theatre 101 workshops cover foundational theatre skills that transfer from the classroom to the stage!
This workshop will focus on lyric and music analysis, characterization, and audition technique. Learn how to embody the emotion behind your favorite musical theatre piece with us!
PREPARING FOR THE WORKSHOP
- Please prepare a 16-32 bar cut of musical theatre song.
- Memorization is highly encouraged in order to fully work on your song at the workshop.
- An accompanist will be provided.Please bring a copy of your sheet music for the accompanist.
- If you do not have a song, options will be emailed to you after registration. You may also pick up songs at the SYT offices.
AGE REQUIREMENT
- This workshop is open to youth in the 3rd-12th grade.
REGISTRATION
- Pre-registration is required.
- To ensure that students have enough time to prepare their material in advance for the workshop, registration closes at 12pm on the Wednesday before the workshop.
REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY
- There are no refunds or make-up sessions for missing the workshop.
Audition Series: Monologues
Ages: 8 - 18
Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 9:00am-1:00pm.

Audition workshops are a great way to experience the audition process prior to auditions. At each workshop, students will participate in a mock audition and receive individualized guidance from SYT staff on audition techniques and how to "get that role!"
PREPARING FOR THE WORKSHOP
- For workshops for plays, all students should bring a 30-second to 1-minute monologue to work on at the workshop. Please bring the monologue printed so the instructor can look at the text.
- We recommend that you come with the monologue already memorized.
- If you do not have a monologue, options will be emailed to you after registration.
AGE REQUIREMENT
- Audition workshops are open to youth in the 3rd-12th grade.
