Audition workshops are a great way to experience the audition process prior to auditions. At each workshop, students will participate in a mock audition and receive individualized guidance from SYT staff on audition techniques and how to "get that role!"

PREPARING FOR THE WORKSHOP

• For workshops for plays, all students should bring a 30-second to 1-minute monologue to work on at the workshop. Please bring the monologue printed so the instructor can look at the text.
• We recommend that you come with the monologue already memorized.
• If you do not have a monologue, options will be emailed to you after registration.

REGISTRATION

• Pre-registration is required.
• To ensure that students have enough time to prepare their material in advance for the workshop, registration closes at 12pm on the Wednesday before each workshop.

Our Callback Series workshops are a great way to explore the callback process for future callbacks.Learning how to navigate callbacks is an important part of the audition process.

Cold readings and script work are essential to the callback process, and growing comfortable with both will help students feel more confident in any audition.

Cold readings are sections of dialogue or a monologue from a script that the student has never seen before. Directors use them often in callbacks to look for bold choices that will make you stand out! This workshop will provide individualized guidance from SYT staff on tips and tricks on how to make sure that cold readings don't give you cold feet!

Our Theatre 101 workshops cover foundational theatre skills that transfer from the classroom to the stage!

This workshop will focus on techniques that will help students build a character. Find ways to play anyone onstage by using your face, body, voice, and YOU!
