Actor's Studio Production Camp: Xanadu (Rising10th-12th)-APPLICATION

Cost: $325
Payment initiated by May 2: Once accepted into the camp, if payment has not been received by Friday, May 2, 2025, or at least partial payment through a payment plan, you will lose your spot in the camp. If you need a payment extension, please contact us directly.
May 26th-30th, 2025 - Evening rehearsals 5:30-8:30pm
June 2nd-6th, 2025 - Evening rehearsals, 5:30-8:30pm
June 9th-13th, 2025 - Camp week, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
Performances: Exact dates and times TBD, but will be June 13-15, 2025.
For students with previous experience on stage, this camp will dive into advanced musical theatre techniques, culminating in a performance of the musical Xanadu. Pre-screen application and virtual audition required (see link above). If you qualify, you will be emailed instructions to enroll within two weeks of submitting your application.
Performances: There will be 3 public performances for this camp:
- Performance dates will be June 13-15, 2025.
- The performances will be ticketed and open to the public.
- Tickets will be on sale in advance through spartanburgyouththeatre.com.
- On sale date is TBD.
- Each actor will receive 2 free tickets for their families to use
- Tickets will be $10, general admission
Content Advisory: This camp is designed for students to be exposed to more mature content. While they will not be asked to do anything inappropriate (no language, graphic scenes, etc), the subject matter will be more mature than what you're used to seeing at SYT.
Auditions: All actors interested in this production must submit an application and virtual audition (upload link above). Virtual auditions will be accepted until 11:59pm on Friday, April 11, 2025. The cast will be announced no later than April 25, 2025.
Camp Fee: In order to participate, actors cast in this production must pay the camp registration fee ($325). A link to pay for the camp will be emailed to actors who are cast.
Registration deadline: Registration for this camp will close earlier than other camps, on Friday, May 2 at 12pm.
Behind-The-Scenes: Crew Crash Course (Rising 7th-12th)

This camp will provide a crash course of crewing by learning what goes into the set, costumes, props, lights, and sound of the rising 3rd-6th Production Camp running the same week. Taught by the designers of both the Spartanburg Youth Theatre and the Sprtanburg Little Theatre shows, you will get to learn what goes into taking a show from a script to the stage!
This Behind the Scenes Class will design and crew the technical elements of the rising 3rd-6th grade production camp. There will be a performance of the show on the final day of camp.
Giraffes Can't Dance (Rising k4-k5)
June 2nd-6th
9:00 am-11:00 am, Monday-Friday

Rising K4-K5 students must be fully potty-trained and able to use the bathroom by themselves. SYT staff may not change diapers nor enter the bathroom with a child.
Join Gerald, the giraffe that can't dance, as he finds the music and belif in himself!
Our one-week camps for rising K4-K5 explore creative play, music and art, while learning acting and storytelling techniques. Classes at this age are intended to help ignite the imagination and encourage group play. There will not be a play or performance in classes for this age range, but rather a sharing of activities.
Production Camp: James and the Giant Peach (Rising 3rd-6th)

This performance camp provides an opportunity to explore how we put a show together from the script to the stage in one week!
Our one-week camps for rising 3rd-6th graders introduce theatre techniques for those who are curious, and provide intermediate-level performance camps for those who are ready for the next step of the theatre process. Production camps at this age range will include a shortened performance of a full length play.
Superstar School (Rising 1st-2nd)

We all have something special that makes us shine bright! Learn to lift yourself and others up, and boost your confiedence in Superstar School!
Our one-week camps for rising 1st-2nd graders continue to develop teamwork, self-expression, and imagination, while introducing acting techniques and stage movement skills through a specific fun setting or theme. Classes at this age are intended to introduce young children to the concepts of theatre and encourage group play. There will not be a play or performance in classes for this age range, but rather a sharing of activities.
Musical Theatre: Moana 1&2 (Rising 3rd-6th) AM SESSION
June 16th-20th

Set in the style of a musical revue, students will learn introductory singing and dancing techniques through songs and choreography from the hit Disney films Moana and Moana 2.
Our one-week camps for rising 3rd-6th graders introduce theatre techniques for those who are curious, and provide intermediate-level performance camps for those who are ready for the next step of the theatre process. Camps at this age range will include a performance showcase of skills learned during class, but students will not be performing a full production.
Super Spies! (Rising K4-K5)
June 16th-20th

LOL Improv (Rising 7th-12th)

It will be difficult not to LOL in this fun and fast-paced camp! This camp will introduce you to the basics of improvisation and give you fun tips and tools to keep the laughs coming.
Our one-week camps for rising 7th-12th graders provide intermediate theatre training and performance opportunities. This camp ends with a performance showcase for friends and family to enjoy!
