Audition Series: Musical Theatre
Ages: 8 - 18

Our Audition Series workshops are a great way to experience the audition process prior to auditions. At each workshop, students will participate in a mock audition and receive individualized guidance on audition techniques and how to "get that role!"
PREPARING FOR THE WORKSHOP
- Please prepare a 16-32 bar cut of musical theatre song
- Memorization is highly encouraged in order to fully work on your song at the workshop.
- An accompanist will be provided. Please bring a copy of your sheet music for the accompanist.
- If you do not have a song, options will be emailed to you after registration. You may also pick up songs at the SYT offices.
AGE REQUIREMENT
- This workshop is open to youth in the 3rd-12th grade.

For students who have had previous experience onstage, Actor’s Studio is an advanced course designed for intermediate to advanced actors looking to hone their craft and prepare for the professional world. Students interested must submit a pre-screen application using the link above.
Pre-requisite: Intermediate level of theatre concepts and vocabulary and/or previous stage experience, plus pre-screen application.
Application required (use link above). If you qualify, you will be emailed instructions to enroll within one week of submitting your application. A follow-up audition may be required.
This class will meet weekly on Wednesdays for 12 weeks starting Wednesday, February 11, 2026. Class will not be held the week of April 6-10, 2026. The class performance will be on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at 5pm.
The final class will be a wrap-up and reflection session on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the same time class is usually held.
Our 12-week teen studios for rising 10th-12th graders provide advanced theatre techniques and training for young actors interested in pursuing a professional theatre career. Classes at this age range typically include a performance of skills learned during class, often through monologues or scenes from plays.
Behind-the-Scenes: Crew Crash Course
Ages: 12 - 18

Our Behind-the-Scenes workshops provide intermediate theatre tech training. This workshop will cover the basics of all positions that our crew may cover during an SYT mainstage show.

Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus (K4-K5)

*Rising K4-K5 students must be fully potty-trained and able to use the bathroom by themselves. SYT staff may not change diapers nor enter the bathroom with a child. *
Join the bus driver in stopping the pigeon from driving the bus, even though he REALLY wants to!
This class will meet weekly on Mondays for 10 weeks starting Monday, February 16, 2026. The final class will be on Monday, April 27, 2026. There will be no class during the week of April 6th-10th because of Spring Break.
Our 10-week classes for rising K4-K5 explore creative play, music and art, while learning acting and storytelling techniques. Classes at this age range will include a performance showcase of skills learned during class, but students will not be performing a full production.

Explore the magic worldbuilding of Harry Potter through the lense of a theatre artist! Learn how to create your own fantastical stories, characters, and settings in this fun and imgainative class!
This class will meet weekly on Mondays for 10 weeks starting Monday, February 16, 2026. The final class will be on Monday, April 27, 2026. There will be no class during the week of April 6th-10th because of Spring Break.
Our 10-week technique classes for rising 3rd-6th graders introduce theatre techniques for those who are curious and provide intermediate-level performance opportunities for those who are ready for the next step of the theatre process. Classes at this age range will include a performance showcase of skills learned during class, but students will not be performing a full production.
Musical Theatre: Wicked Part 2 (7th-12th)
Musical Theatre: Wicked Part 2 (7th-12th)

This class will develop vocal technique, an advanced musical theatre dance vocabulary, stage presence, and collaborative skills while working toward a final class performance of songs from the musical move, Wicked: For Good.
This class will meet weekly on Mondays for 10 weeks starting Monday, February 16, 2026. The final class will be on Monday, April 27, 2026. There will be no class during the week of April 6th-10th because of Spring Break.
Our 10-week middle school studios for 7th-12th graders provide advanced theatre techniques, and an in-depth look at the theatrical production process. Some classes at this age range will include a performance showcase of skills learned during class, but students will not be performing a full production.
Fairytales & Folklore (1st-2nd)
Fairytales & Folklore (1st-2nd)

Explore famous folklore and fairytales like Robin Hood, Sleeping Beauty, The Three Pigs, and so many more! Work together with your classmates to create your own fantastical story!
This class will meet weekly on Tuesdays for 10 weeks starting Tuesday February 17, 2026. The final class will be on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. There will be no class during the week of April 6th-10th because of Spring Break.
Our 10-week classes for energetic youngsters continue to develop teamwork, self-expression, and imagination, while introducing acting techniques and stage movement skills through a specific fun setting or theme. Classes at this age range will include a performance showcase of skills learned during class, but students will not be performing a full production

Learn two songs and dances from the hit movie, K-Pop Demon Hunters! Set in the style of a musical revue, students will learn introductory singing and dancing techniques.
