For students who have had previous experience onstage, Actor’s Studio is an advanced course designed for intermediate to advanced actors looking to hone their craft and prepare for the professional world. Students interested must submit a pre-screen application using the link above.

Pre-requisite: Intermediate level of theatre concepts and vocabulary and/or previous stage experience, plus pre-screen application.

Application required (use link above). If you qualify, you will be emailed instructions to enroll within one week of submitting your application. A follow-up audition may be required.

This class will meet weekly on Mondays for 10 weeks starting Monday, February 20, 2023. The final class will be on Monday, May 1, 2023. Class will not meet the week of Apr 3-7, 2023.

Our 10-week teen studios for rising 10th-12th graders provide advanced theatre techniques and training for young actors interested in pursuing a professional theatre career. Classes at this age range typically include a performance of skills learned during class, often through monologues or scenes from plays.

Musical Theatre: Beetlejuice & Hadestown (7th-12th)

Make your “way on down” to Hadestown…and meet Beetlejuice on your way! This class will develop vocal technique, an advanced musical theatre dance vocabulary, stage presence, and collaborative skills while working toward a final class performance of songs from two of Broadway's most popular musicals from the underworld, Beetlejuice and Hadestown.

This class will meet weekly on Mondays for 10 weeks starting Monday, February 20, 2023. The final class will be on Monday, May 1, 2023. Class will not meet the week of Apr 3-7, 2023.

Our 10-week middle school studios for 7th-12th graders provide advanced theatre techniques, and an in-depth look at the theatrical production process. Some classes at this age range will include a performance showcase of skills learned during class, but students will not be performing a full production.

Using the book “The Adventures of Beekle: The Unimaginary Friend” by Dan Santat, go on your very own journey to create your own unimagined imaginary friend! What world do they come from? Do they wear a paper crown like Beekle? You get to decide!

K4-K5 students must be fully potty-trained and able to use the bathroom by themselves. SYT staff may not change diapers nor enter the bathroom with a child.

This class will meet weekly on Tuesdays for 10 weeks starting Tuesday, February 21, 2023. The final class will be on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. Class will not meet the week of Apr 3-7, 2023.

Our 10-week classes for rising K4-K5 explore creative play, music and art, while learning acting and storytelling techniques. Classes at this age range will include a performance showcase of skills learned during class, but students will not be performing a full production.

Full Course

Intro to Screen Acting (7th-12th)

Are you ready to dive into the world of screen acting? You will learn important concepts like blocking and movement within your frame, adjusting your performances for comedy and drama, and using your imagination for greenscreen. In your last week, you’ll “wrap” with a mock on-camera audition.

This class will meet weekly on Tuesdays for 10 weeks starting Tuesday, February 21, 2023. The final class will be on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. Class will not meet the week of Apr 3-7, 2023.

Musical Theatre: Matilda (3rd-6th)

Matilda and the revolting children will trump the Trunchbull this spring all as you dance and sing to music from the hit Broadway show, and recent Netflix film, Matilda. Set in the style of a musical revue, students will learn introductory singing and dancing techniques.

This class will meet weekly on Wednesdays for 10 weeks starting Wednesday, February 22, 2023. The final class will be on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. Class will not meet the week of Apr 3-7, 2023.

Our 10-week technique classes for rising 3rd-6th graders introduce theatre techniques for those who are curious, and provide intermediate-level performance opportunities for those who are ready for the next step of the theatre process. Some classes at this age range will include a performance showcase of skills learned during class, but students will not be performing a full production.

Payment plan available: $50 deposit plus 1 payment of $85.00, paid every two weeks.

The Day the Crayons Quit (1st-2nd) - WEDNESDAY Session

All of Duncan’s crayons have gone on strike! Blue crayon needs a break from coloring water, and black crayon wants to be used for more than just outlines. Using the book, “The Day the Crayons Quit” by Drew Daywalt as your guide, you will become your favorite color crayon and tell Duncan why you’re on strike!

This class will meet weekly on Wednesdays for 10 weeks starting Wednesday, February 22, 2023. The final class will be on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. Class will not meet the week of Apr 3-7, 2023.

Our 10-week classes for the energetic 1st-2nd grader continue to develop teamwork, self-expression, and imagination, while introducing acting techniques and stage movement skills through a specific fun setting or theme. Classes at this age range will include a performance showcase of skills learned during class, but students will not be performing a full production.
