Musical Theatre: The Little Mermaid AM (Rising 3rd-6th) - MORNING

Instructors: Alexa Cotran & Mary Thalassinos
Set in the style of a musical revue, students will learn introductory singing and dancing techniques through songs and choreography from the hit Disney film The Little Mermaid.
Our one-week camps for rising 3rd-6th graders introduce theatre techniques for those who are curious, and provide intermediate-level performance camps for those who are ready for the next step of the theatre process. Camps at this age range will include a performance showcase of skills learned during class, but students will not be performing a full production.

This camp will give you an in-depth look at the techniques of singing, dancing, and acting used in musical theatre. The week finishes with a performance of songs from two of Broadway’s most popular musicals, Hamilton and Six.
Our one-week camps for rising 7th-12th graders provide both introductory and intermediate theatre training and performance opportunities. This camp ends with a performance showcase for friends and family to enjoy!
The Very Hungry Caterpillar (Rising K4-K5)

Rising K4-K5 students must be fully potty-trained and able to use the bathroom by themselves. SYT staff may not change diapers nor enter the bathroom with a child.
Munch through apples, cherry pie and green leaves to bloom into a butterfly as you take on the role of The Very Hungry Caterpillar!
Our one-week camps for rising K4-K5 explore creative play, music and art, while learning acting and storytelling techniques. Classes at this age are intended to help ignite the imagination and encourage group play. There will not be a play or performance in classes for this age range, but rather a sharing of activities.

**PLEASE NOTE: This is a production camp. Campers will put together a play in just 5 days! There will be homework each night and every child will have lines to memorize. While this camp is tons of fun, it is very fast-paced and is recommended for students who have an interest in performing in front of others. This camp is not recommended for first timers with no theatre experience.
The Fairy Tale Network is a television network that needs to improve its viewership ratings with exciting new programming. The three mice working as creative consultants for the studio each must come up with a story idea to pitch to their new chief, the Cat. They retell the well-known tales of Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Pigs, and Goldilocks and the Three Bears, but now with new, unexpected twists! This camp will end with a performance of the play The Fairy Tale Network, complete with props and costumes.

Mixed-up Fairy Tales (Rising 1st-2nd)

Why is Little Red Riding Hood in the house of the 3 Bears!? Why is Goldilocks blowing down the 3 Pigs’ houses? Become your favorite fairy tale character and help get these fairy tales back in order!
Our one-week camps for rising 1st-2nd graders continue to develop teamwork, self-expression, and imagination, while introducing acting techniques and stage movement skills through a specific fun setting or theme. Classes at this age are intended to introduce young children to the concepts of theatre and encourage group play. There will not be a play or performance in classes for this age range, but rather a sharing of activities.
